Rights Of Saudi Women – A Dilemma
Women were marginalized since 1932 in the inception of Saudi monarchy and they did not play a major role in the politics. According to the law of Sharia, Saudi women have no rights in the Arab states and they cannot work properly in the educational system. Because of this reason, Saudi women in the Kingdom have no hope for any kind of equality.

According to Sharia and Quran, women are rated as second class as compared to men, especially regarding their rights to marry non-Muslims, about the equal share of inheritance, divorcing a husband, offering the legal witness on equal grounds. Quran Teaching tells you more about the rights of Saudi Women in Islam. Apart from all this, these women have no freedom in choosing proper dress, even if they dress modestly; they have no right to run the election. Apart from all this, they cannot drive car or any form of transport.
The Saudi leaders are of the view that if women are allowed to drive and provided with more rights then it will result in committing extramarital affairs. This prohibition is intentionally imposed on women like a leach around them and it is controlled both at political and religious level.
Therefore, by improving status of women on papers requires a lot to be changed and lots of efforts are required to change the whole scenario and situation. It is something that the Saudi Kingdom has never experienced since its inception and they do not know very well how to deal with this situation. Therefore, time might change the situation and scenario.
